First exercise using CAD software in a decade. I drew an illustration of a maker’s mark to stamp in the bottom corner of prints, reversed it, then used Fusion360 to extrude it, then 3D-printed this on our home machine. Notes: extrusion should be ~0.5 cm. Shallower depths in earlier tests failed to prevent ink from contacting the background. The printed PLA isn’t the ideal surface to deposit ink for printing – I added a coat of liquid latex to see if it would provide better texture, but the latex couldn’t adhere. ...

i’ve been extremely entertained using stablediffusion lately. it seems extremely for fast prototyping of compositional ideas that can then be refined by hand – and given some images of significance, the morphs between them are addictive to watch. using deforum via stable diffusion webui, sourced with my own illustrations, looking forward to using the outputs from this pipeline as seeded inputs For a leatherdyke night series (never ended up being thrown) at the White Horse. I looked at a lot of 80s-90s leatherdyke flyers/personals/events/errata, then asked my 2 favorite leatherdykes <3 to pose for a photo I subsequently used as a reference for the illustration.

continuation of the story from last year – the bunnygirl’s scar is healed up, she’s surrounded by blue flax flowers (native californian plant recommendation by members of the collective), the lines of past lovers are outlined on the floor, the tree shadows dapple the ground, there’s the insinuation of pregnancy. hand-drew the type inspired by several orthodox russian typefaces (but made it more legible). initially had a cross out of the blue flax which i quite liked but it gave the bunnygirl a decidedly too christ-like cast. ...

First event done as Envelope Soundsystem. Did a lot of brainstorming about the concept as a shuttle or capsule reentry into the atmosphere (and did set design and visuals at this event that reflected that, including first experiments in mylar sculpture).

after several quiescent-from-illustration years, i spent days on a flyer for t4t4infinity and produced what is probably the best original illustration i’ve ever done. how do you birth your new self as it rends your old self apart? with love. i had cautiously produced only one flyer ever previously, for t4t4infinity’s samhain renegade, and F. asked if i would do one for the next planned renegade. because i given a prompt by one of the collective members i had months to develop a really strong concept. ...

my first flyer <3 didn’t have much to go on for this one. f. volunteered me. r. suggested using a kabbalah for organizing the names, i researched this a bit but other than that i had #faited as a small succubus and a portal (à la dark portal into azeroth).

I illustrated these based on poses of contortionist friends or teachers of mine, while I was in Mongolia as a teaching assistant for Serchmaa’s contortion intensive.
